My son in law died in August and our daughter just received his final death cert which stated Brandon died from the “toxic effects of Mitragynine.”  For all of those months we had no idea why he dropped dead in the middle of the night from no apparent cause, leaving a pregnant wife and two other children homeless and without financial support, and then we get a death certificate saying he died from something we’ve never even heard of, and I’m an Herbalist.

All of the research we’ve done, which is scant as you all know, as indicated it really shouldn’t be toxic, although, now as we all know, it absolutely can be.  My husband wants my daughter to get the full autopsy and toxicology reports to see if there was anything else he was “doing” besides obviously massive doses, but do you think it will matter?  She is considering a lawsuit.  Has ANYONE had any luck with that?  Do you think there is value added in getting more information?  Will it be easier to tell her children if there were any other drugs in his system?  If there were they were not listed as “contributing factors” so my question is this:  what is the value added of getting the full reports? – Anonymous
